Professor Man-Lai Tang received his BSc in Mathematics and MPhil in Statistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He obtained his PhD in Biostatistics from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1995. He has been working at Brown University and Harvard University. Prior to joining the HSUHK, he worked at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Professor Tang has published over 120 articles in statistics and biostatistics, and he is an elected member of the International Statistical Institute and serves on the editorial boards of several international statistics, mathematics and medical informatics journals.
